Classic Teriyaki Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp brown sugar packed
  • 1 Tbsp corn syrup or honey
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 Tbsp corn starch
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions

  • In a medium saucepan, on medium heat, slightly heat 1 cup water, soy sauce, brown sugar, corn syrup, ground ginger, garlic powder for 1 minute.
  • In a small bowl, mix corn starch and 1/4 cup cold water until dissolved. Add slowly to the saucepan while stirring.
  • Bring mixture in saucepan to a slight simmer for 7-10 minutes until sauce thickens.
  • Remove from heat and serve immediately.
