Reese's Nutcrackers Blondie Brownies

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Blondie Batter

  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup flour

Instructions

Blondie Batter

  • In a microwaveable bowl, combine butter and brown sugar and microwave at 15 seconds intervals 2-3 times, stir between each interval. Brown sugar should be near melted and setting at the bottom of the bowl.
  • Pour melted butter and brown sugar into a mixing bowl for electric mixer, add vanilla extract and mix for 1 minute until the mixture cools down before adding in the egg yolk. Mix in egg yolk until fully blended.
  • Add flour and mix until fully combined. The batter should be doughy and on the stiff side. Remove from mixing bowl and place on a plate for later use.

Brownie Batter

  • Reuse the mixing bowl for the blondie batter. Mix butter and sugar until fully blended. Mix in eggs and vanilla extract until blended.
  • Add all dry ingredients and mix until fully combined.

Assembling

  • In a 8"X8" square baking pan, with the bottom lined with parchment paper, spread 1/2 of the brownie batter evenly.
  • Flatten blondie batter into smaller pieces and place all over the brownie batter.
  • Spread remaining brownie batter to cover up the blondie batter pieces.
  • Bake at 350 F for 20 minutes, remove and place Reese's Nutcrackers pieces, bake for another 10-15 minutes until the sides of the brownie is starting to lift from the pan and toothpick insert does not have runny batter.
  • Cool completely before slicing. Enjoy!
